CRN-CCRC Work Retreat 2013
Researchers within the CRN-CCRC met February 24-28 for the 5th annual meeting in La Jolla, CA. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss, draft, and eventually create products based on five years of research within the Center. There was some time for fun as well. Read more about the meeting
Pink Ribbon Survivors Network
The Pink Ribbon Survivors Network brings together cancer professionals (physicians, nurses, social workers and others), primary care physicians, breast cancer survivors, and community scholars to address the needs of breast cancer survivors and educate the professionals that care for them.
New App: Stories from Breast Cancer Survivors
Researchers from Washington University in St. Louis have launched Living Proof, a new iPad and iPhone app full of stories from African American breast cancer survivors. It's based on a decade of research, free, and easy to use. Learn more about this app.

Understanding Jargon
Unfortunately, we're not all doctors. As a result, it's unlikely that most people will understand medical jargon when visiting the doctor. It's also unlikely that a person will ask a doctor questions about terminology, especially when the diagnosis is not good.

Have you heard of MIYO?
Make It Your Own, or MIYO for short, is a web-based system that allows community partners to provide tailored health information to their target audience. The tool has been used by state and local public health and cancer control organizations for a variety of health issues, but is currently being used to enhance colorectal screenings by the Colorectal Cancer Control Program funded by the CDC.
