Sarah Madrid, MPH, ABD PhD


Ms. Madrid is a recovering cultural anthropologist with a background in international relief and development and applied methods. Her graduate work was completed at the Johns Hopkins University; her field research consisted of studying patterns of polygyny and the economic status of women in the Gwembe Valley of Zambia, and PhD research on women's strategies to cope with chronic food insecurity in a former homeland of South Africa. She joined the Institute for Health Research in 2003 as a Senior Contract and Grants Administrator.
